20/11/2016 New book, Advanced Tribological Coatings for Heavy-Duty Applications: Case Studies is published by Prof. Marin Drinov Publishing House of Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. The authors are: Prof. Dr. Mara Kandeva-Ivanova, Prof. Dr. Aleksandar Vencl and Prof. Dr. Dimitar Karastoyanov.

The monograph “Advanced Tribological Coatings for Heavy-Duty Applications: Case Studies” reflects the last trend in solving wear problems. It presents a summary of the researches conducted by the authors in the past few years, concerning the tribological coatings designed for different heavy-duty applications under the impact loads and high temperatures and pressures, in abrasive, erosive and corrosive environment. Three different deposition techniques and various coating materials were used and discussed, i.e. electroless plating process for deposition of nickel composite coatings with different nanoparticles (diamond, SiC and BN) addition; gas metal arc welding (GMAW) technique for hardfacing of different ferrous-based coatings; and high velocity oxygen fuel (HVOF) spraying process for deposition of various superalloy coatings. download.

Opening of the Conference

Opening of the Round Table

The SERBIATRIB Conference is traditionally organized by the Serbian Tribology Society every two years, since 1989. This year the Conference was organized by the Serbian Tribology Society and the University of Belgrade, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. The Proceedings of the Conference contains 69 papers of authors from 19 countries. Approximately 38 papers were submitted by the foreign authors and app. 31 papers by the Serbian authors. Most of the papers were written in English language. All papers can be downloaded from the following address SERBIATRIB – Proceedings.

Selected papers from the Proceedings were undergone a standard peer review process and published in this special issues of two journals: FME Transactions (37, 2, 2009), the Scientific Journal published by the Mechanical Engineering Faculty in Belgrade and Tribology in industry (31, 1-2, 2009), the an official journal of the Serbian Tribology Society. A publication: “Serbian Tribology Society: History and Programme of Development” (in Serbian) was also published and promoted during the Conference. This publication gives a short history of the Serbian Tribology Society, a review of the Society activities over the last 17 years, as well as the future trends and challenges that stands in front of the Society.

At the Conference there were 74 participants (35 from abroad and 39 from Serbia) from 11 countries (Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Germany, Greece, Italy, Romania, Serbia, Switzerland, Turkey and USA). All together 44 papers were presented at the Conference through the Plenary lectures and 6 thematic sections.

On the third day of the Conference a Round TableWaste oils in the Republic of Serbia” was held in the organization of Serbian Tribology Society, Serbian Chamber of Commerce and Oil and Gas Association of Serbia.
